registration form is now on-line
Here.

Anyone is welcome at the Texas Advocates

people to learn about self advocacy. The earlier he better. Currently the bylaws require you to be 18 to join Texas Advocates, but you are not  required to be a member to attend the conference. The board is looking at changing their bylaws to take out the age requirement for membership.

The current  tentative workshop titles include:
Renting or Owning a Home
Voting
Community Forums
Transportation
Self Determination
Knowing your rights for community living
Rules for Working
Legislative Advocacy
Artworks Dream Big (person directed planning)
Healthy relationships
Chapter membership

We will also have some fun afternoon
workshops on cooking healthy, yoga, movies, etc.

Contact Rona Statman, Director of Family Support Service for The Arc of Texas, at
1-800-252-9729 or 512-454-6694 ext. 112 for questions or concerns about the conference.
