Come join the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas and UTMB OT student, Lizzie Thompson, for an enjoyable and engaging OT experience! Our 5-day camp offers a variety of fun and interactive activities tailored for children aged 5 to 12 with Down syndrome. These activities are designed to help them practice skills appropriate for their development stage.

Throughout the camp, children will participate in activities targeting gross and fine motor skills, handwriting, visual perceptual skills, emotional regulation, and sensory integration. Moreover, the camp provides a nurturing environment where children can foster friendships with their peers.

Each day, children will rotate through different stations, enjoy brain breaks, and have nutritious snacks. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to learn and grow while having a great time!

Space is limited and registration is required. If you have any questions or would like to discuss potential accommodations, please email Hannah@downsyndromedallas.org.

Meet Lizzie!

Lizzie Thompson earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas TechUniversity in 2021. Throughout these experiences, Lizzie grew a love for interacting, helping, and advocating for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

Lizzie is joining the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas this summer to implement her Capstone Project. Lizzie will be working on developing an educational video series for parents of children 5-12 years of age to educate on ways to implement age-appropriate occupational- based activities at home to aid in improving their child’s developmental skills. In addition, Lizzie will be hosting a mini-summer camp in June which will incorporate activities targeting fine and gross motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, sensory integration, self-regulation, and building relationships. Lizzie is excited for the opportunity to work with and learn from the members of the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas!
